The Media Leadership Programme is crafted for professionals from 20 government and semi-government bodies. It equips them with skills to lead strategic communication in a dynamic environment. She stated, "Strategic communication is one of the most powerful tools in shaping perception and influence. The Programme provides Dubai’s emerging leaders with the insight, tools, and global perspective needed to articulate the city’s story with confidence."
Hesham Al Olama, Director of Strategy at the Dubai Media Council, emphasised that the programme aligns with global standards while addressing Dubai's unique needs. He remarked that it aims to develop strategic thinkers who can lead effectively and build trust through unique narratives. Participants gain exposure to global best practices and strategic agility necessary for navigating an evolving media landscape.
International Collaboration and Training
The nine-month programme was developed in partnership with prestigious institutions like MIT, Columbia University, and George Washington University. It includes international study tours to countries known for their expertise in government communication. Through lectures, workshops, and hands-on training, participants acquire skills and certification essential for impactful government media strategies.
Sheikh Ahmed expressed that Dubai's progress stems from ambition and a clear vision. He stated that sharing this story globally is crucial. "Dubai’s progress is the result of ambition, clarity of vision, and a relentless commitment to excellence," he said. The programme aims to cultivate communicators who can tell Dubai's story credibly.
The initiative supports the broader strategy of enabling talent development within the Dubai Media Council. It focuses on advancing innovation and aligning media capabilities with Dubai's long-term growth plans. This comprehensive approach ensures that future media leaders are well-prepared to meet modern communication demands effectively.
The programme not only enhances individual skills but also contributes significantly to building a robust media ecosystem in Dubai. By fostering a new generation of storytellers equipped with global perspectives, it strengthens Dubai's position as a leading global media hub.
