Ahmed Bin Mohammed Chairs Dubai Media Council Meeting To Enhance Media Talent Development Initiatives
H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council (DMC), reaffirmed the Council's dedication to the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The focus is on sustainable development with an emphasis on nurturing human capital. The Council aims to introduce innovative initiatives to develop talented media professionals who can shape the industry's future.
The meeting of the Dubai Media Council reviewed progress on its objectives and assessed outcomes of various media initiatives. These include talent development, leadership, and training programmes delivered through workshops and seminars. Strategies were explored to accelerate achieving strategic objectives by enhancing collaboration with media industry partners.

Sheikh Ahmed highlighted the importance of investing in a new generation of leaders to foster innovation and excellence. He expressed hope that media institutions will inspire young talent and provide opportunities for them to transform the industry. The Council collaborates with partners to identify and nurture talent capable of charting new growth avenues for the media sector.
The meeting was attended by Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the DMC; Nehal Badri, Secretary General; and other members including Malek Al Malek, Dr. Abdullah Al Karam, Younes Al Nasser, Amal Ahmed bin Shabib, and Mohammed Al Mulla. They discussed enhancing professional partnerships with leading media institutions in Dubai and academic collaborations with universities.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Sheikh Ahmed met recipients of the first two cohorts of the ‘Mohammed Bin Rashid Scholarship for Emirati Media Students’ at the Mohammed bin Rashid School for Communication. He commended their commitment to academic excellence and urged them to continue acquiring new skills for contributing to media growth in Dubai and beyond.
The scholarship programme aims to encourage Emirati youth participation in the media sector, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for future contributions aligned with Dubai's vision as a global media hub. The programme is expanding by strengthening partnerships with top universities and providing opportunities for students to work with leading media institutions in Dubai.

Mona Ghanem Al Marri noted that Sheikh Ahmed's meeting with scholarship recipients reflects leadership's vision of empowering youth. Under His Highness’s leadership, DMC continues developing a new generation of media leaders committed to advancing Dubai's media industry by nurturing national talent and fostering innovation.
Nehal Badri emphasised that investing in human capital is vital for driving development by building capabilities across sectors, including media. She highlighted that scholarship recipients will play a pivotal role in realising goals of the development strategy for the sector. The Council is considering extending scholarships to include Master's programmes.
