AGFUND And UNICEF Sign Agreements To Enhance Early Childhood Development In GCC And Morocco

The Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) have signed two new agreements. These aim to enhance early childhood development (ECD) in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region and Morocco. This marks a significant step in their partnership, which has spanned over four decades, focusing on improving children's lives globally.

AGFUND Board Chairman Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal bin Abdulaziz and UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell signed the agreements. This act reinforces the strong cooperation between the two organisations. Their collaboration serves as a model for international partnerships, delivering tangible results that support children and families worldwide.

AGFUND and UNICEF Boost Early Childhood Development

The first project, "Enhancing Inclusion and Support for Children with Disabilities in the Early Years in the GCC and the Middle East," aims to improve access to quality early childhood education and care for children with disabilities. It ensures these children receive necessary support for their development and well-being.

The second project, "Improving Early Childhood Services for Children in Morocco (Phase Two)," focuses on enhancing daycare services. It also aims to improve preschool education and implement social behaviour change communication strategies to promote early childhood well-being.

Over the past 40 years, AGFUND and UNICEF have successfully implemented more than 100 joint projects worldwide. These projects provide essential support in health, education, and child protection. The newly signed agreements reaffirm their shared commitment to creating sustainable solutions that empower children and their communities for generations to come.

Investing in ECD is crucial for building prosperous societies. It ensures every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. The partnership between AGFUND and UNICEF exemplifies how international collaboration can lead to meaningful outcomes that benefit children globally.
