AGFUND And CAWTAR Collaborate To Enhance Economic Empowerment For Arab Women

Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, who chairs both the AGFUND board of directors and the Center of Arab Women for Training and Research (CAWTAR) board of trustees, signed two cooperation agreements with CAWTAR. These agreements focus on promoting women's roles in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), enhancing economic empowerment, and supporting institutional building at the center.

The signing took place during the 25th Board of Trustees meeting of CAWTAR, chaired by Prince Abdulaziz. Tunisian Minister Asma Jebri, responsible for Family, Women, Children, and the Elderly affairs, also attended this significant event.

AGFUND and CAWTAR Boost Arab Women's Empowerment

The first agreement is named "Institutional Building Support for the Arab Women Center for Training and Research (CAWTAR) for 2025." It aims to bolster the Regional Financial Literacy Excellence Center (RFLEC), a unit within CAWTAR. This initiative seeks to enhance economic empowerment opportunities for women through income-generating projects.

The second agreement focuses on empowering women in vulnerable situations. Titled "Empowering Women in Vulnerable Situations to Improve Their Social and Economic Status," it aims to enhance agricultural contributions and address climate change impacts using sustainable practices in Tunisia, Senegal, and Jordan.

This collaboration aligns with the broader developmental vision shared by AGFUND and CAWTAR. It extends their commitment to achieving SDGs by 2030 and reflects outcomes from COP28 held in Dubai in 2023. The project underscores their dedication to sustainable development goals.

Both AGFUND and CAWTAR remain committed to advancing women's causes through strategic partnerships. These efforts aim to create a lasting impact by strengthening community capacities and addressing regional development challenges.

The agreements highlight ongoing efforts to promote inclusive development. By focusing on women's empowerment and sustainable practices, AGFUND and CAWTAR aim to foster positive change across various communities.
