Postgraduate Diploma In UAE Diplomacy And International Relations: AGDA Opens Admissions For 2026-27

Admissions have opened at the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy for the 2026–2027 Postgraduate Diploma in UAE Diplomacy and International Relations. The one-year accredited programme prepares future UAE representatives for work in global affairs. Applications started on 4th February, with the closing date set for 31st March, 2026.

The diploma targets UAE nationals and children of Emirati women who aim to work in diplomacy and international relations. The Academy states that candidates must be ready to serve the UAE abroad and travel as needed, reflecting the practical demands linked to diplomatic roles.

UAE Diplomacy Diploma Admissions Open

Admission is open to applicants under 35 years old who hold a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required. Male applicants must have completed national service, while all candidates must show motivation to represent the UAE overseas in official capacities.

English language proficiency is a key condition for entry. Applicants need an IELTS score of at least 6.5, or a minimum score of 79 in the Internet-based TOEFL, 213 in the Computer-Based TOEFL, or 550 in the Paper-Based TOEFL. Those who fall short must commit to reaching the required level before the programme begins.

The Postgraduate Diploma in UAE Diplomacy and International Relations is designed around the fast-changing landscape of international affairs. The curriculum offers specialised training in advanced research, structured negotiation, and diplomatic communication in both English and Arabic, alongside developing the ability to learn and use a third language.

Students receive preparation in protocol and etiquette, consular diplomacy and crisis management, reflecting scenarios that diplomats may face. The Academy highlights the importance of practical readiness, aiming to combine theoretical study with real-world simulations that mirror multilateral meetings, bilateral talks and emergency response situations.

Nickolay Mladenov, Director-General of the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy, said that the opening of applications reflects the Academy’s commitment to developing national talent with a deep understanding of global transformations, strong strategic thinking skills and the practical readiness to represent the UAE effectively across international forums.

For his part, Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Dhaheri, Deputy Director-General of the Academy, said the diploma goes beyond being an academic programme, offering a hands-on experience that immerses young Emiratis in diplomatic practice. He noted that students are provided with opportunities to explore their potential, refine their skills and gain a clear understanding of the responsibilities involved in representing the UAE with professionalism and confidence.
