ADQCC And DoH Postpone Nutri-Mark Initiative Launch To Q4 2025 For Enhanced Food Transparency
The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (ADQCC) and the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) have decided to delay the Nutri-Mark initiative's launch. Initially set for June 2025, it will now roll out in the fourth quarter of that year. This decision allows more time for food manufacturers, retailers, health professionals, and regulatory bodies to adjust their processes and products according to approved standards.
Nutri-Mark aims to promote healthier eating habits across Abu Dhabi and the UAE. It offers clear nutritional information on packaging, aiding consumers in making informed food choices. The initiative also encourages manufacturers to adopt healthier production methods, aiming to reduce diet-related chronic diseases.

The industrial sector has shown strong support for Nutri-Mark, with many companies ready to embrace its guidelines. Food industry experts see it as a tool that boosts transparency and innovation in product development, meeting the growing consumer demand for healthier options. The initiative's organisers have received valuable feedback from healthcare partners, highlighting the need for enhanced awareness and educational components.
The postponement provides extra time to strengthen collaboration and develop effective implementation mechanisms tailored to the sector’s needs. ADQCC and DoH are committed to delivering high-quality services by ensuring Nutri-Mark fully achieves its goals of empowering consumers and encouraging the industry to create nutritionally superior products.
ADQCC and DoH reaffirm their dedication to implementing a reliable programme based on top international scientific standards. The upcoming period will focus on adopting best practices, expanding strategic partnerships, and launching awareness campaigns. These efforts aim to ensure that Nutri-Mark reaches all community segments effectively.
This initiative is seen as a pioneering effort in promoting healthy eating habits within Abu Dhabi and beyond. By providing easy-to-understand nutritional information on packaging, it helps consumers make better food choices while supporting manufacturers in adopting innovative production methods.
Ultimately, delaying Nutri-Mark's implementation is expected to enhance its effectiveness. It allows for comprehensive preparation, ensuring that both consumers and producers benefit from improved nutritional value in products available in the market.
