ADNOC Named Most Valuable UAE Brand With A Strong Focus On Sustainability

ADNOC Group has achieved the distinguished status of being the most valuable brand in the UAE and the second most valuable in the Middle East, as confirmed by Brand Finance, a premier brand valuation consultancy. The latest report from Brand Finance highlights a 7% increase in ADNOC's brand value, reaching a striking $15.2 billion over the past year. This growth is attributed to the company's steadfast commitment to decarbonisation and diversification strategies.

The brand's strength index (BSI) witnessed a one-point increase to 80.2, underlining ADNOC's effective approach towards reducing its carbon footprint and expanding its business portfolio. Notably, ADNOC has broadened its scope through strategic acquisitions, such as its investment in Storegga, which specializes in cutting-edge carbon capture and storage technologies. Furthermore, ADNOC is among the 50 founding signatories of the Oil and Gas Decarbonisation Charter (OGDC), emphasizing a global pledge to accelerate climate action within the sector. This announcement was made at the COP28 UAE, marking a significant milestone in the industry's journey towards sustainability.

ADNOC's efforts have not only contributed to its financial valuation but also enhanced its reputation as the strongest oil and gas brand in the Middle East, now rated AAA-, an upgrade from its previous AA+ rating in 2023. This recognition is a testament to the company's relentless pursuit of decarbonization and diversification.

At the helm of these achievements is Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, serving as the GCEO and Managing Director of ADNOC. Since taking on this leadership role in 2016, Al Jaber has been instrumental in the public listing of five ADNOC businesses and attracting significant international investment, further solidifying the company's global standing. In recognition of his visionary leadership, Al Jaber was named the top-ranked brand guardian in the Middle East.

Dr. Al Jaber's contributions extend beyond the corporate realm into impactful climate advocacy. As the appointed President of the COP28 UAE UN climate conference in Dubai in November 2023, he played a pivotal role in achieving a historic global consensus. The conference concluded with groundbreaking agreements to move away from fossil fuels, double energy efficiency, and triple the capacity of renewable energy worldwide. These accomplishments underscore Al Jaber's commitment to leading the energy sector towards a more sustainable future.

His dedication and leadership have been acknowledged through prestigious accolades, including the CERAWeek Leadership Award and the World Energy Council's Global Energy Transition Impact Award. These honors reflect Al Jaber's significant impact on both the energy industry and global climate action initiatives.

ADNOC's remarkable growth in brand value and its strategic positioning as a leader in sustainability highlight the UAE's proactive approach to addressing global energy and environmental challenges. Under Dr. Al Jaber's guidance, ADNOC is setting a benchmark for the industry, demonstrating that economic growth and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand.
