ADNOC Gas And EWEC Establish Strategic Partnership To Enhance UAE's Energy Transformation

ADNOC Gas plc has entered a significant long-term partnership with Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC) to aid the UAE's energy transition. This collaboration is anchored by a 10-year natural gas sales and purchase agreement valued at $10 billion between ADNOC Gas Facilities LLC and EWEC. The agreement was formalised in the presence of Fatema Al Nuaimi, CEO of ADNOC Gas, Othman Al Ali, CEO of EWEC, and other representatives.

She stated, "We greatly value our long-term partnership with EWEC, which is underpinned by a 10-year strategic agreement, supporting the rise of digitisation, the increasing need for resilient connectivity and growing technology adoption across the UAE’s economy, while advancing the nation’s net-zero ambitions."

ADNOC Gas and EWEC Join Forces for Energy Transition

Othman Al Ali highlighted that this agreement ensures a stable supply of natural gas crucial for the UAE's energy shift. He remarked, "This landmark agreement with ADNOC Gas ensures a stable and flexible supply of natural gas that is pivotal to enabling the UAE’s energy transition." This collaboration enhances EWEC's capacity to provide a secure and efficient water and electricity system while contributing to the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative.

Natural gas remains vital as EWEC integrates renewable energy technologies to decarbonise water and electricity supplies in line with national goals. The flexible gas supply will be distributed to plants throughout Abu Dhabi and the UAE. This initiative underscores both parties' dedication to fostering sustainable economic growth within the country.

ADNOC Gas is committed to supporting customers transitioning to cleaner energy solutions by offering reliable and affordable lower-carbon energy options. This approach aims to reduce carbon footprints while delivering long-term value for shareholders. By leveraging Abu Dhabi's extensive gas reserves, ADNOC Gas aims to ensure self-sufficiency while fuelling over two-thirds of national industries.

The partnership also supports EWEC's strategic plans to transform the UAE's energy sector into one focused on clean and renewable sources. This transformation is expected to drive economic growth and diversification led by digital technology advancements.

As both entities work together, they reaffirm their commitment to powering economic growth sustainably while ensuring long-term energy security for future generations in the UAE.
