ADNOC Deepens Energy Partnerships With Chinese Companies At CIIE Through Strategic Agreements
ADNOC, along with its subsidiaries Masdar, Borouge, and TA’ZIZ, participated in the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai. They showcased energy products and projects while engaging with potential customers and partners. This event aimed to strengthen existing partnerships with Chinese companies and explore new opportunities.
During the expo, ADNOC signed three significant agreements. One was a Memorandum of Understanding between ADNOC Global Trading (AGT) and CNOOC to explore trading partnerships involving refining and trading systems. Additionally, ADNOC extended crude supply collaborations with ZhenHua Oil and CNOOC.

ADNOC's involvement at CIIE highlights over 40 years of energy collaboration between the UAE and China. This follows the opening of ADNOC’s Beijing office in April. The company promoted its ‘Make it with ADNOC’ initiative through bilateral meetings and supplier workshops during the event.
His Excellency Omar Suwaina Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, led ADNOC’s delegation at CIIE. He stated: "Our participation at the China International Import Expo reinforces our commitment to the Chinese energy market. Our presence was more than a showcase; it was a strategic move to strengthen existing partnerships and unlock new commercial opportunities. We look forward to deepening our long-standing relationships with Chinese energy companies."
Masdar highlighted its advanced solar and battery energy storage system project during meetings with current and potential partners. This project is capable of delivering 1 gigawatt (GW) of baseload renewable power, showcasing Masdar's commitment to technological advancement in renewable energy.
Borouge also made strides by signing strategic agreements with three Chinese cable manufacturers for future renewable energy projects. Additionally, they signed a Memorandum of Understanding with two waste management partners to develop recycling infrastructure in Ningbo, Zhejiang province.
TA’ZIZ's Major Contract Award
At ADIPEC, concurrent with CIIE, TA’ZIZ awarded a US$1.99 billion contract to China National Chemical Engineering & Construction Corporation Seven, Ltd. This contract is for constructing the UAE’s first polyvinyl chloride (PVC) production complex, one of the largest integrated single-site PVC plants globally.
The Sino-International Entrepreneurs Federation (SIEF) and Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) announced the inaugural Blue Forum at CIIE. Scheduled for ADSW 2026, this forum will focus on sustainable water management innovation, finance, and policy cooperation.
The participation of ADNOC and its subsidiaries at CIIE underscores their commitment to enhancing UAE-China relations in the energy sector. Through strategic agreements and showcasing innovative projects, they aim to foster deeper collaborations with Chinese companies while exploring new business opportunities.
