ADNOC Distribution Expands EV Charging Network To 500 High-Power Chargers By 2028
ADNOC Distribution is significantly expanding its electric vehicle (EV) charging network. The company plans to increase its charging points from 53 in 2023 to over 200 by 2024, aiming for 500 high-power chargers by 2028. This expansion supports the UAE's Net Zero by 2050 strategic initiative, enhancing ADNOC's role in EV mobility.
Bader Saeed Al Lamki, CEO of ADNOC Distribution, highlighted the company's commitment to innovation and technology at the Electric Vehicle Innovation Summit (EVIS 2025). He emphasised features like real-time updates through the ADNOC app and Apple smartwatches. The Plug & Charge technology, powered by artificial intelligence, allows automatic vehicle recognition and charging upon connection.

The service also includes smart energy management and real-time predictive analytics. It integrates with ADNOC’s loyalty programme and offers flexible digital payment options, enhancing customer experience. Al Lamki noted that ADNOC Distribution’s extensive network across all emirates facilitates seamless travel for customers.
Customers benefit from premium retail services during charging, including exclusive offers and shopping at ADNOC Oasis convenience stores. Al Lamki mentioned that ADNOC Distribution showcases the E2GO network's capabilities at EVIS 2025 while exploring partnerships with government entities, automotive manufacturers, and energy providers to aid ADNOC Group’s decarbonisation efforts.
In 2024, ADNOC Distribution reduced carbon emissions by over 23 million metric tonnes. It remains the only UAE company enabling uninterrupted electric journeys due to its advanced infrastructure. Al Lamki stated that E2GO is now fully owned by ADNOC Distribution, operating as a major charge point operator balancing customer satisfaction with investment sustainability.
Advanced Digital Services
Al Lamki explained that customers can activate the Plug & Charge feature with a one-time setup for seamless automated charging. They can monitor the process via an app or smartwatches. This service is currently available for select vehicles within the E2GO network.
The CEO concluded that ADNOC Distribution continues to expand its digital capabilities and smart services to support the national transition in the transport sector. The company aims to deliver a fast and flexible charging experience that meets EV drivers' expectations across the country.
