ADNEC Group Achieves Recognition For Best Energy Management Initiative And Strategic Supply Chain Excellence
ADNEC Group, a Modon company, has been honoured with the Best Energy Management Initiative award at the 9th Annual Abu Dhabi Sustainable Business Leadership Awards. This accolade recognises their planned rooftop solar project, which aims to transform sustainable practices in the events and exhibitions sector. The initiative involves installing a 5 MWp rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi.
The solar project is a key part of ADNEC Group’s net zero programme, targeting a 50% reduction in emissions by 2030 and achieving complete carbon neutrality by 2045. Once operational, this system will generate substantial renewable energy onsite, reducing dependence on the electricity grid and stabilising energy costs. It is expected to cut over 6,000 metric tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.
Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC Group, expressed that the award marks a significant milestone in their journey towards net zero. He stated, "This award is a rewarding milestone in our journey toward net zero. It reflects our belief that bold, forward-looking investments in sustainability are not just good for the environment—they’re essential for long-term business resilience."
Al Dhaheri further emphasised their commitment to sustainable transformation by stating that the solar initiative demonstrates what can be achieved when ambition aligns with strategic action. He added that they aim to inspire industry peers to adopt similar clean energy solutions.
In addition to this recognition, ADNEC Group also received the "Excellence in Strategic Supply Chain Partnership" award at the 2025 International Procurement & Supply Chain Awards. This achievement highlights their dedication to ethical procurement processes through strategic sourcing and transparent oversight.
This award acknowledges the structured procurement framework supporting the planned solar PV rooftop installation at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. The framework aligns with ADNEC Group’s ESG strategy and supports UAE’s Net-Zero 2050 and Abu Dhabi’s 2030 Environmental visions.
