ADNEC Group Partners With Positive Zero To Enhance Sustainability Through Solar Power Agreement

ADNEC Group, a Modon Company, has entered into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Positive Zero. This agreement aims to install a Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system on the roof of ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. The signing took place at the World Future Energy Summit, with Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri and Mohammed Abdulghaffar Hussain representing their respective organisations.

The project will be managed by Positive Zero’s Generation arm, SirajPower. It involves installing a 5 Mega-Watt Peak (MWp) capacity of Solar PV panels over 21,620 square metres. Once operational by year-end, this system will meet 30% of ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi’s annual electricity needs.

ADNEC Group and Positive Zero Sign Solar Agreement

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri stated that the agreement showcases ADNEC Group's dedication to sustainability. By incorporating clean energy, they aim to set industry standards while aligning with UAE's broader environmental goals. This initiative is part of their strategy to achieve Net Zero and adhere to their Carbon Transition Plans.

Mohammed Abdulghaffar Hussain expressed pride in collaborating with ADNEC, a globally recognised conference centre. He highlighted Positive Zero’s role in helping businesses transition to clean energy solutions. Supporting ADNEC's Carbon Transition Plans accelerates the UAE’s energy transition objectives.

The solar project is expected to cut CO2 emissions by nearly 6,000 metric tonnes annually. This reduction is comparable to providing electricity for 1,250 homes for one year. ADNEC Group aims to halve its carbon footprint by 2030 and reach net zero by 2045 through comprehensive plans and innovative practices.

ADNEC Group has already implemented advanced solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce electricity use. These efforts underline their leadership in sustainable event management, significantly lowering the environmental impact of events at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi.

By integrating solar power into its operations, ADNEC Group contributes significantly to the UAE's clean energy transition and national sustainability targets.
