Abu Dhabi Judicial Department Handles Over 500,000 Requests With AI Technology In H1 2024
The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) processed over 500,000 electronic requests in the first half of 2024. These requests spanned various legal and judicial services across the emirate.
Among these, 394,800 requests were related to court matters, 49,821 pertained to prosecutions, and 69,487 involved notary public and documentation services. Counsellor Youssef Saeed Al Abri, Under-Secretary of the ADJD, emphasised that handling these requests remotely through AI-enhanced services aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This initiative aims to establish innovative courts that enhance Abu Dhabi's global competitiveness.
The ADJD’s performance report for the first half of 2024 highlighted that 283,802 visual trial sessions were conducted for criminal and civil cases. Abu Dhabi courts achieved a full activation rate for remote litigation systems.
Criminal courts issued 78,388 rulings during this period. Additionally, the Public Prosecution issued 22,000 penal orders and resolved 111,501 cases. The report also noted that the Abu Dhabi Family, Civil, and Administrative Court received 11,155 cases. The Abu Dhabi Commercial Court handled 10,149 cases while the Abu Dhabi Labour Court dealt with 1,848 cases. These courts achieved an average completion rate of 98%.
In terms of judicial services, there were 40,254 notary public transactions completed. Documentation transactions totalled 26,593 while digital marriage contracts accounted for 2,640 transactions.
Mediation and reconciliation centres registered 12,518 lawsuits in the first half of the year. Out of these cases, mediation and reconciliation successfully completed 5,968 cases. Family guidance centres resolved another 7,854 disputes through family guidance sessions. Additionally, there were 8,446 amicable settlement sessions conducted for family disputes.
The ADJD's efforts in handling a significant volume of electronic requests demonstrate its commitment to efficient legal processes and support for innovative judicial services in Abu Dhabi.
