ADIO Signs Five Strategic Partnerships To Enhance Manufacturing In Abu Dhabi

The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) has initiated several partnerships to explore manufacturing opportunities in the emirate. These agreements align with Abu Dhabi's focus on sustainable growth and economic diversification. The collaborations were formalised during the Procurement Forum at the first Abu Dhabi Business Week, held from 4-6 December. This forum highlights the strategic procurement priorities of the Abu Dhabi Government and emphasises the private sector's role in shaping future public procurement.

ADIO has partnered with GEOLLYTO Global Hub, a company specialising in solar and lighting products. This collaboration aims to support the local lighting systems industry by potentially establishing a product assembly line, a manufacturing plant, and an innovation centre. The agreement also includes investment facilitation, pre-qualification of products, supplier registration, and prioritisation in government procurement.

ADIO Partners to Boost Abu Dhabi Manufacturing

Another partnership involves Lumenae Lighting Manufacturing, a global leader in electrical fixtures for residential and street lighting. This agreement seeks to explore partnership and investment opportunities to develop an advanced lighting production facility in Abu Dhabi. The goal is to meet the growing demand for energy-efficient lighting solutions, enhancing Abu Dhabi's status as a hub for sustainable manufacturing.

ADIO has also signed an agreement with JST Limited, an IoT joint venture company with Aqara, China's largest smart home solution provider. This partnership will explore opportunities for service provision and promote localisation of lighting systems production in Abu Dhabi. It will consider creating a lighting products assembly line and developing smart solutions for homes, farms, schools, and hotels.

Additionally, ADIO has partnered with Daikin Middle East and Africa to explore energy-efficient cooling systems development in Abu Dhabi. Both parties will identify cooperation avenues in developing smart home systems that reduce energy costs through built-in sensors. The collaboration will also explore potential partnership opportunities related to establishing an HVAC facility.

Strengthening Local Manufacturing

An agreement with Takyeef Factory aims to advance HVAC manufacturing in Abu Dhabi. This collaboration focuses on enhancing communication between both parties to develop innovative HVAC products through improved manufacturing processes. These partnerships represent significant progress in ADIO's efforts to stimulate local manufacturing activity through strategic collaborations.

These initiatives build upon ADIO’s joint efforts with the Abu Dhabi Department of Government Enablement (ADDGE) to leverage government procurement policies supporting local industry. ADIO plays a crucial role in forming partnerships that align with government procurement requirements, driving local manufacturing growth.

Badr Al-Olama, Director General of ADIO, stated: "Our partnership with these entities marks a key milestone in our broader efforts to drive localisation across the board in Abu Dhabi. This collaboration is set to further our shared goals of developing innovative and sustainable products while also supporting industrial sector growth, strengthening the emirate’s position as a hub for smart urban solutions. By aligning with government procurement priorities, we are not only building the capacity of the manufacturing sector; we are fostering a more resilient, competitive economy."
