ADEK Awards Expand To Recognise Early Education Institutions With New Categories And AED 7 Million In Prizes
The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has announced the second edition of the ADEK Awards. This initiative celebrates the accomplishments of educators, schools, and learning programmes in Abu Dhabi. The awards are open to all public, private, and charter schools, including early education institutions (EEIs) in certain categories. This year, there are 16 award categories, with six new ones added.
The newly introduced categories for EEIs include the Best Parental Engagement Award, Director of the Year Award, and Outstanding Educator Award. These additions reflect ADEK's dedication to improving education at all levels. Winners will receive recognition and prizes amounting to AED 7 million. The funds will be used to support further improvement initiatives at winning schools and EEIs.

Sara Musallam, Chairman of ADEK, expressed enthusiasm about expanding this year's recognition. "Following the first ADEK Awards’ success, which highlighted the unwavering dedication and commitment of our schools and educators, we are excited to broaden this year’s recognition. Their passion continues to shape enriching learning experiences of students in Abu Dhabi. With the addition of new categories, we aim to honour outstanding contributions across the sector. We celebrate those who educate the next generation of lifelong learners and global citizens. It is through their efforts that our future generations will contribute meaningfully to the future of Abu Dhabi when they realise their full potential."
Among the new awards is the Best AI Programme Award, which acknowledges schools that have effectively integrated AI technology into their operations and learning processes. The Best ADEK Engagement Award recognises schools with strong collaboration efforts with ADEK. Additionally, the Best Anti-Bullying Programme Award honours schools that have fostered a safe and supportive environment for students.
The awards continue to feature established categories from last year’s edition. These include Best Parental Engagement, Best Inclusion Practice, Best Professional Development Program, Best Student Wellbeing Programme, Best Reading Programme, Best Arabic Programme, Principal of the Year, Outstanding Teacher, and Unsung Hero Award.
Registrations for these awards are open until 5th January 2025. After this date, an expert judging panel will evaluate submissions based on specific criteria and standards.
