ADEK Launches Diverse Winter Break Activity Camps To Enhance Student Learning And Development
The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has introduced its School Break Camps Programme. This initiative collaborates with prominent organisations to offer diverse and enriching camps during school holidays. Following the success of summer camps earlier this year, ADEK aims to provide a continuous stream of camps for each school break, supporting students' overall growth and preparing them for future achievements.
Starting 16th December, the programme will feature camps in arts, sports, STEM, Arabic literacy, culinary arts, and environmental education. These are designed to promote ongoing learning beyond traditional classrooms. In partnership with leading industry figures like the Louvre Abu Dhabi, students can explore their creativity through the Art Lab Camp. Here, they will create art inspired by the Suhail Star and Khaleeji mythology.

In sports, Manchester City, Sport 360, and Storm Academy will offer specialised two-day training camps in football, basketball, and swimming. Top performers may join ADEK's talent identification programme to train with elite coaches from Manchester City, Jr. NBA, and Olympian Sarra Lajnef. For aspiring chefs, the Culinary School Camp by ICCA provides a multisensory experience teaching cooking basics alongside pastry and food photography.
The Arabic Reading Camp by Almubarakah Foundation is available for those interested in Arabic language skills. It aims to foster a love for reading while enhancing Arabic literacy through engaging activities. Younger participants can immerse themselves in Arabic culture at the Beit Arabi Winter Discovery Camp. This two-week programme covers Arabic language skills along with drama and creative activities.
Gracia Farm's Environmental Heroes Camp focuses on environmental stewardship through practical activities like eco-tours and recycling projects. This camp encourages a commitment to sustainability among participants. High school students can access various hands-on AI experiences through partnerships with top universities.
Options include AI for Tomorrow Camp by 42 Abu Dhabi. Participants start with Discovery Piscine—an intensive bootcamp testing programming skills—and conclude with an AI Hackathon. Other STEM programmes include AI for a Sustainable Future by Khalifa University and AI Discovery Programme by Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence.
Additional offerings are Prompt Engineering by UAE University, Data Science & AI Training by UAE University, Creating with AI by NYU Abu Dhabi, and the AI Winter Camp by Abu Dhabi University. These are crafted to enhance AI literacy and essential technical skills needed for future careers.
These initiatives reflect ADEK's dedication to providing enriching educational experiences that extend beyond traditional schooling environments. By offering diverse opportunities across various fields, ADEK supports students' holistic development while equipping them with vital skills for their futures.
