ADAFSA Honours Charitable Contributions For 'Pioneers Of Goodness 2023'
The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) recently celebrated Zayed Humanitarian Work Day by honouring the "Pioneers of Goodness for the Year 2023". This prestigious recognition was awarded to various government agencies and individuals who have significantly contributed to ADAFSA's charitable, humanitarian, and volunteer efforts through the "Auwn" Community Engagement Programme. The ceremony, held on the 19th of Ramadan, underscores the UAE's commitment to fostering a culture of philanthropy and community service.
Among those honoured were key entities such as the Department of Culture and Tourism, ADNEC Group, Al Dhafra Hospitals, and the Community Contributions Authority (Ma'an). Additionally, several volunteer groups and societies including the Al Watan Volunteering Team, Friends of the Environment Society, Al Ihsan Charity Society, Emirates Blood Donation Society, Emirates Environmental Working Group, Ain Al Khaleej Hospital, and Burjeel Hospital were recognized. Furthermore, ADAFSA celebrated the dedication of 500 volunteers from its workforce and the wider community who collectively contributed 2,228 hours to various initiatives in 2023.

Badr Al Shihhi, Director of the Communication and Community Engagement Division at ADAFSA, highlighted the significance of humanitarian work in the UAE. He emphasized that such endeavours reflect the enduring legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his profound influence on promoting noble values and achievements both locally and globally. Al Shihhi also pointed out that the "Auwn" programme is a cornerstone initiative for ADAFSA, designed to bolster its engagement with the local community in alignment with Abu Dhabi's vision of solidarity and unity.
Since its inception, the "Auwn" Community Engagement Programme has successfully organized over 100 initiatives in various fields including humanitarian aid, development, and environmental conservation. This initiative not only honours Sheikh Zayed's humanitarian legacy but also strengthens community bonds by encouraging active participation in volunteer work.
The celebration of Zayed Humanitarian Work Day through this recognition event serves as a reminder of the UAE's foundational principles of generosity and community support. It highlights ADAFSA's ongoing commitment to these values through its impactful "Auwn" programme. By honouring these "Pioneers of Goodness", ADAFSA aims to inspire further contributions towards charitable and humanitarian causes across the nation.
