AD Ports Group Introduces Innovative Rail Logistics Offering In The Middle East

Noatum Logistics, part of AD Ports Group, has introduced a new rail logistics service in the Middle East. This addition enhances their existing freight forwarding services, which already include land, sea, and air transport options.

The service began with the launch of a rail shuttle between Khalifa Port and Fujairah Terminals. Utilising the UAE’s national railway system, developed by Etihad Rail, this shuttle aims to increase regional logistics capacity and offer new options for large freight volumes.

The weekly shuttle can carry up to 156 Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) or 78 Forty-Foot Equivalent Units (FEUs) per trip. Depending on demand, it can also include first- and last-mile truck transport for seamless end-to-end connectivity.

Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports Group, stated, "The inaugural journey of the first commercial train shuttle from Khalifa Port to Fujairah Terminals is a major milestone for our broader AD Ports Group family, as it delivers on our wise leadership’s vision for boosting connectivity across the UAE and the broader Middle East region."
