AD Ports Group And Eurasian Economic Commission Collaborate To Enhance Logistics And Transport Infrastructure

AD Ports Group is joining forces with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) to enhance cooperation in transport, infrastructure, and logistics digitalisation within the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). This partnership was formalised by Arzybek Kozhoshev, EEC's Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, and Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports Group.

The collaboration aims to explore new opportunities for investment in logistics hubs and seaport terminals within EEU member states. Additionally, AD Ports Group will work on integrating digital systems across non-member states. The focus will also be on standardising electronic document management and aligning regulatory frameworks to attract investment for new infrastructure projects.

The UAE has emerged as a significant trade hub for EEU countries, with bilateral trade expected to reach nearly $30 billion in 2024. This marks a 27 percent increase from 2023, according to the Ministry of Foreign Trade. AD Ports Group plays a crucial role as an investor and trade enabler in Kazakhstan and Central Asia.

In Kazakhstan, AD Ports Group collaborates with KazMorTransFlot (KMTF) to transport oil across the Caspian Sea to Azerbaijan. From there, it enters western pipeline networks. Earlier this year, they launched GulfLink with Kazakhstan Railways' freight division to boost multimodal connectivity and digital transformation in the region.

Arzybek Kozhoshev stated, "Deepening cooperation in transport and infrastructure with a world-class partner such as AD Ports Group represents an important step for the further development of international transport and logistics ties of the Eurasian Economic Union. Our cooperation will serve as a dynamic catalyst for the growth of the Union's relationship with the UAE, bringing mutual benefits."

Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi remarked that this collaboration is crucial for bridging global trade routes and strengthening UAE's strategic partnership with the EEU. He added that sharing expertise in terminal operations and digital transformation aims to build a resilient supply chain benefiting both parties.

Future Prospects

The partnership includes exploring knowledge transfer acceleration in transport and infrastructure sectors. It also covers establishing new logistics hubs in the region. The integration of advanced digital systems is another key area of focus for both parties.

This initiative aligns with AD Ports Group's vision to expand its global presence while contributing to economic development internationally. The collaboration reflects UAE leadership's vision for growth through strategic partnerships.
