AD Ports Group Partners With Egyptian Ministry To Develop Logistics Infrastructure In Alexandria

AD Ports Group has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Egypt's Ministry of Industry and Transport. This agreement aims to explore the joint development and operation of an integrated logistics park in Alexandria. The signing ceremony took place in Cairo, attended by notable figures including Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al Wazir and Mariam Al Kaabi.

The collaboration involves AD Ports Group working with the Holding Company for Maritime and Land Transportation (HCMLT), which is linked to Egypt's Ministry of Transportation. Ahmed Al Mutawa, Regional CEO of AD Ports Group, signed the MoU alongside Amr Ahmed Moustafa, Executive Managing Director of HCMLT.

This partnership focuses on developing a 1.1 square kilometre integrated logistics area at Alexandria Port. This location is poised to become one of the largest logistics hubs along the Mediterranean Sea. Alexandria Port plays a crucial role in Egypt’s economy, handling approximately 60% of the nation's foreign trade.

Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports Group, expressed optimism about this venture. He stated, "AD Ports Group partners with governments for the long-term development of their economies, inspired by the vision of our wise leadership. We are working with the Egyptian government to bring growth, jobs and prosperity to the people of Egypt."

The collaboration could pave the way for significant infrastructure projects in the Mediterranean region. These initiatives aim to enhance Egypt's global trade flows while contributing to economic growth. The project aligns with AD Ports Group's strategy to expand its portfolio through value-added investments.
