Abu Dhabi University Achieves Global Recognition As One Of The Top 200 Universities In Times Higher Education Rankings 2025

Abu Dhabi University (ADU) has made a significant leap in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2025, moving up 60 places to secure the 191st position globally. This achievement places ADU among the top 200 universities worldwide, highlighting its academic excellence and dedication to research. Out of 2,092 higher education institutions evaluated, ADU stands out for its commitment to quality education.

In this year's rankings, ADU excelled in the ‘International Outlook’ category, achieving 13th place globally. The university scored a perfect 100 points in both ‘International Staff’ and ‘International Students’ metrics. This accomplishment underscores ADU's dedication to fostering global collaboration and maintaining a diverse campus environment, reinforcing its status as a regional hub for international talent.

ADU Ranks Among Top 200 Universities Globally

ADU has shown notable progress in research and innovation, particularly in the ‘Research Environment’ pillar. The university climbed 203 places to rank 268th globally in this area. Additionally, it improved by 79 places in the teaching pillar, now ranking 203rd worldwide. These advancements reflect ADU's ongoing efforts to nurture a strong research environment that supports the UAE’s knowledge-based economy.

The university also saw an improvement in the ‘Research Quality’ pillar, moving up 20 places to rank 172nd globally. This rise highlights the increasing recognition of ADU’s research quality by the global academic community and solidifies its impact as a center for innovation and advanced research.

Professor Ghassan Aouad, Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University, expressed gratitude towards various academic authorities for their support. He acknowledged the Ministry of Education's strategic vision and appreciated the rigorous program accreditation by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA). The contributions of key bodies like ADEK and KHDA were also recognized for their role in enhancing educational standards at ADU.

Professor Aouad stated, "Being ranked among the top 200 global universities is a testament to our dedication to educational excellence. This prestigious recognition enhances the value of the university’s degree and reaffirms that our students graduate with globally recognised, high-quality qualifications." He emphasized ADU's commitment to adapting to academic innovations to prepare graduates for future challenges.

Business School Achievements

Recently, ADU’s College of Business received re-accreditation from the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS). It was also ranked as the leading business school in both the UAE and Arab region according to THE World University Rankings 2024 by Subjects. Globally, it placed within the top 101-125 range, further establishing its reputation for excellence in business education.

The university's progress across various metrics such as ‘Research Productivity,’ ‘Research Reputation,’ and ‘Research Excellence’ demonstrates its commitment to fostering a robust research environment. These efforts contribute significantly not only to local but also global developments.
