Abu Dhabi University Partners With Shanghai Stemstar To Enhance STEM Education And AI Training Initiatives
Abu Dhabi University (ADU) has entered into a partnership with Shanghai Stemstar Education Technology Co., Ltd., a leading education technology firm from Shanghai, China. This collaboration aims to enhance research and development capabilities, promote innovation in STEM fields, and equip students with skills to address global sustainability and technology challenges.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Professor Ghassan Aouad, Chancellor of ADU, and Deepak Tyagi, Director of Shanghai Stemstar. The signing event was attended by Dr. Hamad Odhabi, ADU’s Vice Chancellor for AI and Operational Excellence; Prof. Barry O’Mahony, Provost of ADU; and Salem Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of Community Relations at ADU.

A key aspect of this partnership is the establishment of a modern R&D Centre at ADU. This centre will focus on advancing research in Artificial Intelligence (AI), STEM disciplines, and sustainability. It will also serve as a hub for innovation in these critical areas.
The collaboration includes training high school students in AI, offering tailored professional development programmes for Shanghai Stemstar employees, and supporting joint academic initiatives. Additionally, it will back key conferences at ADU like the ‘International Conference on Advancing Sustainable Future (ICASF).’
ADU and Shanghai Stemstar will also provide training and research programmes, knowledge exchange initiatives, networking opportunities, and student-focused camps in high-demand fields such as AI, STEM, and sustainability. These efforts aim to inspire future leaders in these areas.
Professor Aouad expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: "Our strategic partnership with Shanghai Stemstar provides a dynamic platform to enhance STEM education and innovation as well as AI training.
