Abu Dhabi University And Ministry Of Industry Collaborate To Boost Industrial Innovation And Capacity Building
Abu Dhabi University (ADU) and the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) have formalised a partnership to enhance collaboration in industrial innovation and academic engagement. This agreement sets a framework for initiatives that link academia with industry, focusing on national capacity building. It aims to align scientific research with market demands, supporting the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology and the "Make it in the Emirates" initiative.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Osama Amir Fadhel from MoIAT and Dr. Hamad Odhabi from ADU during the fourth "Make it in the Emirates" forum. Fadhel emphasised, "Academic institutions play a key role in building capacity and empowering national talent for sustainable industrial growth. Our partnership with ADU is a practical step to align research with industry needs, empower students, and deliver innovative solutions, strengthening the business environment and supporting a resilient, competitive, knowledge-based economy."

Professor Ghassan Aouad, Chancellor of ADU, highlighted the importance of aligning academia with national goals. He stated that this approach nurtures a new generation equipped with essential skills for global sustainable growth. The collaboration will drive projects to advance UAE's industrial transformation by promoting innovation in priority sectors and facilitating knowledge exchange in advanced technologies.
Training Programmes for Students
The agreement also includes developing specialised training programmes for students and startups. These programmes aim to support local initiatives like "Make it in the Emirates" by showcasing universities' roles in shaping the industrial ecosystem. By providing professional training, the partnership seeks to empower students, specialists, and startups with necessary skills.
