Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority Celebrates Five Years Of Enhancing Welfare
The Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority (SSA) recently celebrated its fifth anniversary in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Mugheer Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development - Abu Dhabi. The event highlighted SSA's key programs that have positively impacted over 5,000 families annually in Abu Dhabi.
Over the past five years, SSA has been dedicated to providing a robust social safety net for beneficiary families in Abu Dhabi. The Authority focuses on financial social support, encouraging positive engagement, and empowering individuals to tap into job market opportunities, all with the aim of ensuring a decent quality of life and financial independence for beneficiaries.

One of SSA's notable achievements is the allocation of more than Dh2 billion to provide social financial support to eligible families in Abu Dhabi. The Authority has also prioritized empowerment and training programs, which have helped approximately 1,250 beneficiaries secure employment. The Nafis and Mawaheb platforms have facilitated the registration of 6,700 and 2,700 beneficiaries respectively, enabling them to actively pursue job opportunities. SSA has also conducted financial literacy programs and social empowerment workshops to further support beneficiaries.
Under the theme 'Collaborate for Social Impact', SSA recognized its strategic partners for their contribution to the implementation of social support and empowerment programs. These partners have played a crucial role in designing and executing initiatives under the Abu Dhabi Social Support Program, data sharing and matching for beneficiaries, implementing empowerment and training initiatives, and supporting the employment of eligible individuals from beneficiary families.
His Excellency Dr. Mugheer Al Khaili emphasized the importance of continuously enhancing society's present and future prospects in line with the visionary directives of Abu Dhabi's wise leadership. As the regulatory body for the social sector, the Department of Community Development - Abu Dhabi (DCD) is committed to supporting SSA's partnerships and efforts in serving beneficiaries with limited income. The department focuses on developing the skills and capabilities of individuals, enabling them to achieve financial independence.
The ceremony also highlighted the Authority's achievement in streamlining the verification of customer and beneficiary data through its own system for updates and electronic connectivity. This system has significantly reduced the average customer access time to social support services from 90 working days to only 7.
Various institutions from the government and private sectors were honored during the ceremony for their effective cooperation and support of SSA's mandate. These institutions include the Ministry of Community Development, the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council "NAFIS Program", the Department of Government Enablement, the Central Bank of the UAE, and many others.
His Excellency Abdulla Al Ameri, Director General of SSA, expressed gratitude to all strategic partners for their unwavering support and belief in the Authority's role in serving families. He emphasized SSA's commitment to creating a lasting social impact through cooperation, integration of roles, and collective responsibility. The Authority actively seeks new partnerships to enhance family stability and financial independence.
SSA extended an open invitation to all government entities and companies to collaborate with the Authority through their corporate social responsibility programs. The Authority looks forward to integrating efforts with relevant institutions across the government, private, and third sectors to collectively deliver a sustainable social impact.
