Abu Dhabi And Singapore Explore Collaboration In Petroleum Products Regulation For Enhanced Efficiency

A delegation from the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE), led by Dr. Saif Saeed Al Qubaisi, visited Singapore to explore global practices in petroleum product regulation. The visit aimed to identify collaboration opportunities with Singapore's regulatory bodies and technical institutions. Dr. Al Qubaisi highlighted the DoE's dedication to improving Abu Dhabi's energy sector efficiency and sustainability through international expertise.

During the visit, the delegation engaged with various government entities and companies to understand Singapore's regulatory framework. Meetings were held with the Energy Market Authority, Singapore Civil Defence Force, and others. These interactions aimed to enhance cooperation in regulatory areas and promote knowledge exchange on safety and sustainability practices.

Collaboration Between Abu Dhabi and Singapore on Petroleum Regulation

The delegation also toured companies involved in natural gas, LPG, and petroleum products sectors. They examined procedures related to trading, transporting, storing, distributing, and importing these products. The insights gained are expected to aid in developing integrated regulatory policies for Abu Dhabi's energy system.

Ahmed Alsheebani, Executive Director of the Petroleum Products Regulatory Affairs Sector, stated that the DoE supports Abu Dhabi's strategy for integrated infrastructure and efficient oversight of petroleum products trading. This aligns with sustainable economic development goals and reinforces Abu Dhabi's position as a global energy hub.

The visit included meetings with leading companies like Singapore Petroleum Company and Senoko Energy. These engagements aimed to foster cooperation within regulatory domains and encourage compliance with global standards. The focus was on applying optimal safety practices and supporting carbon neutrality efforts.
