Abu Dhabi Steps Up Health Compliance Checks At Beauty Centres Before Eid
In a proactive move to ensure public health and safety, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality, under the Municipal Services Sector - Public Health Department, recently launched an inspection campaign targeting beauty centres and salons across Abu Dhabi. This initiative, particularly timely with the upcoming Eid al-Fitr celebrations, seeks to address the surge in patronage these establishments experience during festive periods.
The five-day campaign was meticulously designed to educate owners and employees of both women's and men's salons about the critical importance of meeting health and public hygiene standards. The primary goal is to enhance the quality of services provided to the community while fostering a collaborative environment with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and safeguard public well-being.

Throughout the duration of the campaign, more than 100 inspection visits were conducted across various centres within the Municipality's jurisdiction. These inspections were crucial in verifying adherence to all required health and hygiene protocols. Staff members were also reminded of their pivotal role in maintaining these standards to protect the health of both employees and visitors. Despite the overall positive outcome, a few establishments received warnings for non-compliance, with subsequent follow-ups planned to monitor improvements.
To complement these efforts, the Municipality utilized its official social media channels and the "Freejna" application to disseminate awareness materials in both Arabic and English. These resources aim to further enlighten salon owners and staff on the importance of strict adherence to health regulations, thereby preventing any potential violations and ensuring the community's health and safety remain uncompromised.
This campaign underscores the Abu Dhabi City Municipality's commitment to upholding public health standards, especially in sectors with high customer interaction such as beauty centres and salons. By prioritizing education and collaboration, the initiative not only aims to elevate service quality but also reinforces the collective responsibility towards maintaining a healthy community environment.
