Abu Dhabi Teams Up With EEG To Enhance Greenery In Al Samhah With 500 Seedlings

In a significant environmental initiative, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality, in collaboration with the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG), has taken a notable step towards greening the urban landscape of Al Samhah. This partnership under the "For Our Emirates We Plant" initiative saw the planting of approximately 500 diverse seedlings in Al Samhah East, marking a concerted effort to expand agricultural lands and green spaces across the city's public areas.

The initiative not only aims to beautify the streets and communal spaces within the centre's jurisdiction but also to elevate sustainability standards and foster better collaboration with strategic partners. In a remarkable display of community involvement, municipality teams, alongside EEG representatives and 150 volunteers, came together to plant an array of trees in targeted areas. The planting effort included 250 Prosopis (Ghaf) seedlings, 150 Acacia seedlings, and 100 Acacia Nilotica seedlings, culminating in a total of 500 seedlings.

Greening Al Samhah: 500 New Seedlings

This planting drive is part of an ongoing collaboration between the Abu Dhabi City Municipality and the EEG. To date, within the scope of Al Shahama Municipality Centre's activities, a total of 5,575 seedlings have been planted in various areas affiliated with the centre as part of the "For Our Emirates We Plant" initiative. This initiative underscores the municipality's commitment to continuous collaboration with its strategic partners to launch similar green initiatives across its geographical jurisdiction and sub-centres.

The concerted efforts aim not only at enhancing cooperation among stakeholders but also at expanding green areas that are crucial for preserving the environment. Additionally, these initiatives contribute significantly to improving the city's aesthetic appeal and enhancing its natural beauty. Through such collaborative efforts, Abu Dhabi City Municipality and its partners are making strides towards creating a more sustainable and visually appealing urban environment for its residents.
