Abu Dhabi Mobility Unveils Innovative Transport Solutions At UAE Innovates 2025 Event

The Integrated Transport Centre, part of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, took part in "UAE Innovates 2025." This event highlighted smart and sustainable mobility projects aimed at improving Abu Dhabi's transport systems. These initiatives align with the UAE's vision for a more efficient and sustainable environment.

During the event, Abu Dhabi Mobility introduced several innovative projects to enhance mobility efficiency and safety in the Emirate. One key project is the Smart Mobility Analytics Framework (Fusion), an AI-based platform derived from STEAM+. This framework uses big data and AI techniques to analyse mobility network performance, devise optimal solutions, and assist in decision-making for investments.

Innovative Transport Solutions from Abu Dhabi Mobility

Abu Dhabi Mobility also showcased the "Salama" app, which aims to improve school transport safety through technological solutions. The app provides real-time GPS tracking of school buses, allowing parents to monitor bus locations and receive alerts when buses are near their homes or schools. It also features an electronic attendance log for students' pick-up and drop-off times.

In the maritime sector, Abu Dhabi Mobility presented "MARSDNA," a digital tool supporting environmental sustainability in Abu Dhabi’s maritime industry. This platform offers maritime companies detailed reports on environmental, social, and corporate governance aspects based on an online survey. It provides a personalised roadmap with actionable steps and access to government support.

The 'AL NALIA' app received significant enhancements, becoming a comprehensive platform for all maritime services relevant to waterway users. The app now includes electronic services, local maritime bulletins, berth inquiries, weather updates, and ticket bookings.

In public transport, the Green Bus Programme was highlighted. This initiative aims to transform Abu Dhabi Island into a green zone by 2030 using sustainable energy alternatives. A full transition is expected by 2050. The programme involves collaboration with South Korea on hydrogen buses and China on electric buses to facilitate knowledge exchange.

Public Transport Initiatives

The Green Bus service launched in September 2024 with a fleet powered by clean energy. This marks a significant step towards sustainable public transport in Abu Dhabi. Alongside this initiative, updates on the Abu Dhabi Trip Generation and Parking Rates Manual were presented as well.

This manual serves as a reference for developers and planners in transport engineering. It supports new development project analysis and contributes to transport planning according to the latest standards. The manual provides a framework for estimating trip generation rates and enhancing road access management.

Transport Planning Enhancements

During Innovation Month 2025, workshops showcased innovative projects from private entities alongside presentations from academic institutions across various fields. These activities highlighted key innovations contributing to Abu Dhabi's future transport sector needs.

The event celebrated its tenth edition under the theme "The Power of Innovation," reflecting ongoing efforts to foster innovation across sectors. Various government entities participated with diverse innovative projects.
