Abu Dhabi's Hub71+ Life Sciences Initiative Aims To Accelerate Health Innovation In BioTech And MedTech

Hub71, a global tech ecosystem based in Abu Dhabi, has introduced Hub71+ Life Sciences. This new initiative aims to speed up health innovation in BioTech, MedTech, and digital health. It provides life sciences founders with direct access to regulators, hospitals, investors, and industry partners. This positions Abu Dhabi as a key launchpad for life sciences globally.

The launch of Hub71+ Life Sciences aligns strategically with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE), and the HELM cluster. These entities are committed to establishing a robust life sciences economy in Abu Dhabi. The MENA healthcare services market is expected to reach $412 billion by 2032, indicating ongoing investment in health innovation.

Hub71+ Life Sciences Launches in Abu Dhabi

Hub71+ Life Sciences was announced at Hub71’s annual Impact Event. It offers founders direct access to Abu Dhabi's advanced medical innovation sector. From early clinical validation to market entry, founders can utilise Abu Dhabi’s integrated health cluster to transform science into patient outcomes and scalable businesses.

The ecosystem encourages collaboration among regulators, corporates, investors, and startups to boost healthcare innovation in Abu Dhabi. By offering regulatory support and funding opportunities, it facilitates clinical trials and proof-of-concepts. This creates shared value by strengthening partnerships and advancing research.

Founding Partners include the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE), and the HELM cluster by ADIO. These partners highlight Abu Dhabi’s focus on precision medicine, advanced biomanufacturing, and data-driven care. Anchor Partners like the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority (ECA) and Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi further reinforce the platform.

A total of 12 partners will work with startups to explore investment opportunities and accelerate transformative innovations' market introduction. This collaboration aims to drive growth in a competitive life sciences sector within the region.

Expanding Innovation Ecosystems

Ahmad Ali Alwan, CEO of Hub71, stated: "Since 2019, Hub71 has supported hundreds of startups that have helped shape Abu Dhabi’s innovation landscape.
