Abu Dhabi Investment Office Partners With Primavera Capital To Attract High-Growth Companies
The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) has partnered with Primavera Capital to boost cross-border capital flows and investor partnerships. This collaboration aims to enhance the presence of global companies in Abu Dhabi. Announced during Abu Dhabi Finance Week, this initiative aligns with ADIO's goal to strengthen the Fintech, Insurance, Digital, and Alternative Investments (FIDA) cluster, positioning Abu Dhabi as a hub for innovation and economic growth.
Founded in 2010, Primavera Capital excels in private equity, venture capital, credit, and strategic investments. It manages funds for global institutions and sovereign wealth funds. The partnership with ADIO aims to create investment pathways between Asia, the world, and the Middle East. Both organisations focus on long-term value creation by supporting companies at various growth stages.

Primavera will establish its presence in Abu Dhabi by leveraging the emirate's capital markets and international connectivity. This move will accelerate their global investment activities. The collaboration seeks to deepen partnerships between Primavera and local investors while expanding financial products like private equity and venture capital targeting both local and international markets.
Primavera’s portfolio includes technology, healthcare, sustainability, and lifestyle firms that align with Abu Dhabi's diversification strategy. These companies will receive support to enter and scale within the emirate. The partnership also involves working with universities and research institutions to promote technological advancement and talent development in strategic sectors.
Badr Al-Olama of ADIO stated: "This partnership with Primavera exemplifies Abu Dhabi’s ambition to be at the forefront of global capital flows. By collaborating with one of the world's most respected investment management firms, we are unlocking access to an unparalleled global network of companies, entrepreneurs and investors while accelerating the emirate’s economic transformation and positioning Abu Dhabi as a launchpad for future-defining industries."
Enhancing Financial Infrastructure
Both partners aim to enhance Abu Dhabi’s financial infrastructure by improving capital market offerings and exploring shared investment platforms. This complements ADIO’s efforts to attract leading financial institutions and strengthen the emirate’s innovation ecosystem. The collaboration underscores a shared belief in long-term capital value, aligning strategically with market relevance.
Philip Hu from Primavera Capital remarked: "Abu Dhabi is emerging as one of the world’s most exciting investment centres. Our collaboration with ADIO reflects a shared commitment to long-term value creation and economic impact. Through this partnership, we look forward to connecting Primavera’s portfolio companies and global ecosystem with one of the world’s most dynamic and forward-looking economies."
The partnership leverages Primavera's strong presence in Asia to enhance Abu Dhabi's role as an international gateway for investment. This initiative places Abu Dhabi at the centre of future global growth by fostering cross-border connectivity.
