Abu Dhabi Investment Office To Host DRIFTx 2025 Exhibition Showcasing Smart Mobility Innovations
The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) is set to host the second edition of DRIFTx, a prominent international exhibition focusing on smart and autonomous mobility solutions. Scheduled from 10th to 12th November, this event is part of the inaugural Abu Dhabi Autonomous Week (ADAW), organised by the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council (SASC). DRIFTx will feature advanced technologies in air, land, sea, and robotics, bringing together global innovators, investors, regulators, and policymakers to explore future mobility.
Building on last year's success with over 8,000 visitors from more than 65 countries and 12 strategic agreements signed, DRIFTx returns with an expanded format. The Yas Marina Circuit will host demonstrations of autonomous air taxis, self-driving vehicles, maritime vessels, and robotic systems under real-world conditions. This year also highlights robotics' growing role in logistics, advanced manufacturing, and urban services.

By integrating robotics with mobility solutions across various domains, DRIFTx reflects Abu Dhabi's comprehensive approach to technological advancement. This integration connects mobility innovation with broader industrial transformation. Badr Al Olama, Director-General of ADIO, stated that DRIFTx showcases Abu Dhabi's dynamic ecosystem where regulation, capital, and innovation merge seamlessly to accelerate progress.
DRIFTx serves as more than just an exhibition; it is a platform for commercial acceleration. It facilitates direct collaboration between prototypes and pilots with investors, regulators, and industry stakeholders. Investors at the event can engage with commercially viable technologies supported by a clear governmental commitment to long-term economic transformation.
For international mobility companies, DRIFTx offers not only a showcase for their technologies but also a tangible entry point into Abu Dhabi. The emirate provides seamless access to high-growth markets across the GCC, Africa, South Asia, and beyond. The UAE's extensive network of Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements (CEPAs) further reinforces Abu Dhabi's position as a hub for international expansion.
Visitors will learn how autonomous systems enhance safety, reduce risk, and improve efficiency. These advancements lay the foundation for long-term societal acceptance and trust in autonomous technologies. The exhibition underscores Abu Dhabi's commitment to shaping the future of transport across air, land, and sea.
The Role of SAVI Cluster
DRIFTx is the flagship event of the Smart and Autonomous Vehicle Industries (SAVI) cluster. This multi-modal hub focuses on developing smart and autonomous mobility technologies across air, land, sea, and robotics. As part of ADIO’s broader cluster strategy, it aims to attract market-leading companies while developing advanced industries.
The SAVI cluster is projected to contribute AED 44 billion to Abu Dhabi’s GDP and create over 35,000 jobs. It plays a pivotal role in generating high-value knowledge-based jobs across priority sectors. By fostering such developments within its ecosystem, Abu Dhabi continues to position itself as a leader in smart mobility solutions.
The upcoming edition of DRIFTx promises significant opportunities for collaboration among innovators worldwide. With its focus on cutting-edge technology integration across various sectors like robotics and autonomous systems in transportation modes such as air taxis or self-driving cars – all under one roof at Yas Marina Circuit – this event marks another milestone towards achieving sustainable growth through innovation-driven strategies implemented by ADIO alongside other key stakeholders involved throughout different stages leading up until now!
