Abu Dhabi International Shooting Championship 2025 To Feature Over 300 Shooters From More Than 30 Countries

The Abu Dhabi International Shooting Championship is set to take place from December 1st to 4th, 2025. The event will be held at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club. It will feature top shooters from around the globe competing for substantial cash prizes. This prestigious tournament is under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

During a press conference on November 23, Mohammed Suhail Al Neyadi, Director General of the Weapons and Hazardous Substances Office, expressed gratitude to the UAE's leadership for their unwavering support of sports and athletes. He acknowledged H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan's generous patronage and thanked H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his continuous support.

Over 300 Shooters at Abu Dhabi Championship

The tournament is organised by the Weapons and Hazardous Substances Office in collaboration with the UAE Shooting Federation and FITASC. More than 300 shooters from over 30 countries will participate, including 30 from the UAE. Women's participation has reached approximately 10%, reflecting their growing involvement in shooting sports.

Al Neyadi highlighted that the total prize money amounts to $400,000 (over AED 1.5 million), which will be distributed among winners. He praised the high registration turnout, which closed on November 20, and confirmed that technical and administrative teams are ready to welcome international competitors.

Al Neyadi commended strategic partners like the UAE Shooting Federation, Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Al Ain Municipality, Abu Dhabi Police, Caracal International, and Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club for their collaborative efforts. These partnerships ensure that the event meets international standards befitting the UAE's stature.

Logistical preparations are complete for welcoming international shooters. The tournament coincides with the 54th Eid Al Etihad celebrations, promising an exceptional edition that showcases the UAE's leadership in shooting sports while highlighting its cultural heritage in hunting and defence.

Significance of Hosting in Al Ain

Hosting this championship in Al Ain underscores its growing reputation as a key sports and tourism hub in the region. The event adds significant value to the UAE's sporting landscape and demonstrates international federations' confidence in the country's organisational capabilities and infrastructure.

The final day will feature a special "Abu Dhabi Silver Awards" tournament with prizes exceeding AED 100,000. This addition aims to enhance competitiveness and enrich the overall programme of events.

Tournament Schedule

Tournament Director Saif Matar Al Nuaimi detailed that preparations have been intense at the club as committees finalise arrangements. Participating shooters are scheduled to arrive starting November 25. Official training sessions are set for November 27-30 before competitions begin on December 1.

This year's championship promises to be a remarkable showcase of talent and organisational excellence, aligning with national celebrations while promoting shooting as an integral part of Emirati culture.
