Abu Dhabi Housing Authority Introduces Digital Expression Of Interest Service Through Iskan Application

The Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA) has introduced a new digital service called the Expression of Interest. This initiative aims to enhance social stability and family cohesion by offering eligible citizens more flexibility in choosing government housing. Through the Iskan Abu Dhabi app, users can explore current and upcoming housing projects across Abu Dhabi, allowing them to select options that best meet their needs.

Beneficiaries can evaluate projects based on factors like location, completion date, and unit size. They receive SMS and in-app notifications to review available projects for expression of interest based on financial eligibility. This process allows ample time for exploration, comparison, and family discussions before submitting their choice.

New Housing Service Launched in Abu Dhabi

Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, Director-General of ADHA, stated that this service aligns with leadership directives to bolster family stability and social cohesion. He noted it marks a significant advancement in government housing allocation, offering citizens the freedom to choose preferred locations and units within projects. "This service reflects the directives of our wise leadership to strengthen family stability and enhance social cohesion," he said.

Currently, ADHA is developing around 28,000 residential units across 15 projects in Abu Dhabi. In the initial phase, beneficiaries express interest in suitable projects. Once detailed information is available, they can select and reserve units on a map. Beneficiaries are then invited by ADHA or developers to review designs, choose units on the map, and complete allocation procedures before project completion.

The first phase targets citizens applying for housing purchase loans or deferred repayment loans. It also includes those eligible for housing grants who can access all government projects. Al Muhairi explained that citizens with residential land grants or land lacking infrastructure can convert their service into ready housing purchase loans or grants according to their benefits.

The Authority prioritises qualifying citizens with active applications by considering application seniority, social conditions, family size, and current housing situations. Additional projects will be announced later as more citizens qualify based on eligibility criteria.

Future Phases and Expansion Plans

The second phase will cater to citizens granted residential land plots with approved construction loans. Although construction has not started yet, these citizens can convert their service into ready home purchase loans after completing current applications. Al Muhairi stressed the importance of planning with relatives to select adjacent homes within the same project.

The expression of interest will initially open for beneficiaries in Al Ain, followed by Abu Dhabi and Al Dhafra. The initiative aligns with ADHA’s strategy for digital transformation, governance enhancement, and transparency throughout the customer journey from eligibility to receiving housing units.

This effort reflects ADHA's commitment to simplifying procedures, streamlining services, and strengthening private sector partnerships to offer more options while reducing waiting times for housing acquisition.
