Abu Dhabi's hospitality industry is experiencing significant growth, with hotel revenues reaching AED611 million in March 2025. This data, shared by the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and the Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi (SCAD), highlights the emirate's thriving tourism sector. Revenue sources include AED345 million from room bookings, AED228 million from food and beverage services, and AED38 million from other areas.
In March, around 417,000 hotel guests visited Abu Dhabi, showcasing its rising status as a global tourist hotspot. The emirate's diverse accommodation options and top-notch hospitality services are key factors driving this increase. A total of 171 hotels with 34,341 rooms were operational during this period, achieving over 1.2 million guest nights and an average occupancy rate of 69%.

Non-Arab Asian nationals led international visitor numbers with 152,000 guests. European travellers followed closely with 123,000 visitors, while UAE nationals accounted for 58,000 stays. These statistics reflect Abu Dhabi's growing appeal across various global markets. Five-star hotels were particularly popular, hosting 205,000 guests in March, with Europeans making up the largest group at 78,000.
Four-star hotels welcomed 119,000 guests during the same month. Meanwhile, three-star and lower-rated hotels accommodated 54,000 visitors. Serviced apartments also played a role in the hospitality landscape by hosting an additional 38,000 guests. This distribution underscores the emirate's ability to cater to different preferences and budgets.
The robust performance aligns with Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Strategy 2030 objectives. The plan aims to attract 39.3 million visitors annually and create 178,000 new jobs within the tourism sector. Additionally, it seeks to expand hotel capacity to accommodate up to 50,000 rooms and boost the sector’s contribution to the GDP to AED90 billion by decade's end.
The average revenue per available room (RevPAR) was reported at AED486 in March. This figure indicates strong financial returns for hotel operators in the region. Such economic indicators are vital for assessing the health of Abu Dhabi's hospitality industry and its future potential for growth.
The continuous rise in visitor numbers highlights Abu Dhabi's successful positioning as a preferred destination for tourists worldwide. The emirate’s strategic initiatives are paving the way for sustained growth in its tourism sector while enhancing its global reputation as a premier travel destination.
