4th Bike Abu Dhabi Gran Fondo Scheduled For December 2025 With New Route And AED 2 Million Prize Pool

The 4th Bike Abu Dhabi Gran Fondo, organised by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, is set for Sunday, 21 December 2025. This year's event will feature a reversed route starting in Al Ain Region and concluding in Abu Dhabi. Cyclists will have the chance to traverse some of the country's most picturesque landscapes. The prize pool for this edition is AED2,000,000, with 364 awards available—44 more than in 2024.

Aref Hamad Al Awani, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, highlighted the race's significance in positioning Abu Dhabi as a premier global cycling destination. "The Bike Abu Dhabi Gran Fondo is a unique competitive event that brings together amateurs and professionals alike. It reflects our strategic vision to make cycling an integral part of life in the emirate," he stated.

Bike Abu Dhabi Gran Fondo Returns in December

The 2025 edition marks a significant change with its new starting point in Al Ain Region and finish line in Abu Dhabi. This shift from previous editions that began in the capital signifies a fresh approach to the race's organisation. The increased number of awards and substantial prize money demonstrate the council’s dedication to enhancing the event's prestige on the international stage.

Since its inception in 2022, the Bike Abu Dhabi Gran Fondo has secured its place on the global cycling calendar. It attracts participants worldwide and highlights Abu Dhabi’s commitment to fostering healthy, sustainable lifestyles through sport. The previous edition saw over 1,000 cyclists from more than 70 nationalities participate, showcasing tolerance and coexistence—values central to the UAE.

This year’s race aligns with the Year of the Community initiative, emphasising social cohesion and inclusion. It underscores sport's crucial role in strengthening national unity and fostering connections across diverse societal segments.
