Abu Dhabi Awards 88 Entities For Outstanding Business Continuity Practices

In a significant event at the Business Centre, Staff Major General Pilot Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, the Abu Dhabi Police Commander-in-Chief and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Emergencies, Crises and Disasters Management Team, recognized 88 government and private sector organizations for their adherence to the National Standard for Business Continuity Management System. This ceremony saw the presence of key figures including representatives from the Abu Dhabi Crisis, Emergency and Disasters Management Committee (ADCMC), and Obaid Rashid Al Shamsi, Vice President of the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NECMA).

Dr. Nasser Humaid Al Nuaimi, Acting Director-General of ADCMC, expressed pride in collaborating with government entities across the emirate to ensure their preparedness in providing essential services during emergencies and crises. He highlighted the initiative's role in reinforcing Abu Dhabi's global leadership in crisis response. Dr. Al Nuaimi underscored the importance of the external audit process, conducted by ADCMC work teams, in verifying compliance with NECMA's National Standard for Business Continuity and enhancing Abu Dhabi's emergency response capabilities.

Abu Dhabi Honours Business Continuity Leaders

The auditing phase spanned from July to December 2023, involving comprehensive evaluations by ADCMC teams. This process included interviews with over 480 employees across various levels, examination of more than 2,200 documents, and execution of 28 training workshops that benefited 2,091 employees. Additionally, more than 94 meetings were held with the work teams of the audited entities to ensure thorough understanding and compliance.

This initiative not only showcases Abu Dhabi's dedication to maintaining high standards of business continuity but also highlights the emirate's proactive approach in utilizing advanced technologies and developing competencies to stay ahead in emergency preparedness. The collective effort of government and private sectors in achieving compliance with national standards is a testament to Abu Dhabi's commitment to safeguarding its community and ensuring resilience against crises.
