Abu Dhabi Government Notaries Expand Digital Services As ADJD Approves New Batch

Five government notaries from Abu Dhabi Police have taken the oath before Counselor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, signalling the start of their official work. The move links police notarial functions with the wider judicial system, supporting smoother services for residents, investors, and companies across Abu Dhabi and the wider UAE.

The appointment of these government notaries is designed to streamline business and personal transactions by embedding authorised notarial services inside key government entities. This structure reduces procedural steps for customers, shortens waiting times, and supports Abu Dhabi’s goal of offering fast, reliable and digitally enabled justice services across different sectors.

Abu Dhabi Government Notaries Expand

Al Abri stated that empowering qualified national staff as government notaries aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of ADJD. That vision focuses on bringing judicial services closer to the community, speeding up procedures, and maintaining high standards of accuracy and service quality across the government notary system.

According to ADJD, the government notary system is treated as a key tool for protecting rights and maintaining confidence in transactions. It supports a competitive, attractive business climate by ensuring documents are properly authenticated. This approach also reflects Abu Dhabi’s wider justice strategy, which uses specialised institutions and integrated processes to strengthen legal certainty for individuals and organisations.

Al Abri explained that the Judicial Department is continuing to develop the government notary system by investing in national talent and modern tools. ADJD applies international best practices and relies on advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, to upgrade services. These tools help simplify procedures, reduce manual errors, and make notarial services more accessible across Abu Dhabi’s government network.

The five government notaries have completed an intensive programme at the Abu Dhabi Judicial Academy. Training covered the legal framework for notarial work, the practical application of relevant laws, and detailed instruction on regulations. Participants also received hands-on practice with digital platforms that support secure remote authentication of documents, consistent with Abu Dhabi’s smart government model.

Through the government notary system, authorised employees within participating entities are given the legal authority to authenticate official papers at their offices. This arrangement reduces the need for external visits, saves time and effort for customers, and improves procedural accuracy. It also reinforces the rule of law and strengthens protection of rights, while supporting a more efficient and trusted environment for business and civil transactions.
