Winners Crowned At The 2nd Abu Dhabi Government Games Championship

The Abu Dhabi Government Games Championship concluded its second edition with a grand award ceremony at the Abu Dhabi Sports Hub, where winners across 11 sports disciplines were honoured. The event, which took place from 13th to 28th March, saw the participation of over 2000 employees from more than 40 government agencies in Abu Dhabi. The championship, organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council with support from the Government Support Department, celebrated athletic excellence in football, archery, padel, fitness, volleyball, table tennis, basketball, chess, badminton, running, and cycling.

Rashed Abdul Karim Al Balooshi, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Department for Economic Development (ADDED), Ahmed Al Qubaisi, Executive Director of the Support Services Sector at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and Talal Al Hashemi, Executive Director of the Sports Development Sector at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, presented awards to the top performers. The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) received the competition shield for fielding the largest number of participants across various sports. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi Police was awarded the general sports excellence shield for securing the highest number of wins in different competitions.

The championship was not just a display of physical prowess but also a celebration of teamwork and personal development among government employees. Held during the blessed month of Ramadan, it was part of a broader Job Interaction and Well-being Programme aimed at enhancing employee performance, human relations, and both professional and personal growth within the work environment. Organizers highlighted that beyond fostering a competitive spirit, the event was designed to positively influence mental and psychological health among participants.
