Abu Dhabi Strengthens Global Leadership In Healthcare Innovation With High-Level US Delegation Visit
A delegation from the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) will visit the United States from 14th to 21st June 2025. This mission underscores Abu Dhabi's leadership in healthcare innovation and its vision for transformation through collaboration, investment, and innovation. The visit aligns with Abu Dhabi's participation at BIO International Convention 2025, a major biotechnology event.
The delegation will travel to Boston, Washington D.C., and Philadelphia. Their aim is to highlight achievements in AI, digital health, genomics, and clinical research. They will also promote the HELM Life Science Cluster and foster strategic partnerships with government bodies, research institutions, and global innovators.

Abu Dhabi is at the forefront of genomics in the region through the Emirati Genome Programme. This initiative has sequenced over 800,000 samples, establishing one of the most advanced national genomic databases. The Emirate hosts more than 90 licenced research centres and over 30 ongoing clinical trials focusing on oncology, rare diseases, and chronic conditions.
The delegation includes representatives from key stakeholders such as the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, Mubadala BIO, M42, Masdar City, KEZAD, PureHealth, and Etihad Cargo. These entities represent Abu Dhabi’s innovation ecosystem and are crucial for advancing healthcare solutions.
During their visit to the US, the delegation plans to engage in over 20 strategic meetings with leaders from both public and private sectors. These interactions aim to facilitate knowledge exchange, explore investment opportunities, and sign new agreements that promote advanced health solutions.
Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of DoH – Abu Dhabi stated: "This mission reflects our commitment to shaping the future of health through collaboration, innovation, and shared purpose. Our vision is to build a health system that predicts, prevents, acts to restore, and acts to cure; therefore ensuring better outcomes for our communities and beyond. This can only be achieved through meaningful partnerships and a shared ambition to improve lives. We are proud to join our partners in the United States to explore new opportunities that advance healthcare both in the UAE and globally."
Advanced Data Platforms
Abu Dhabi leverages advanced data platforms like Malaffi which securely store over 5 million patient records. These platforms enable AI-powered insights and real-world evidence crucial for healthcare advancements. Additionally, national initiatives such as the Golden Visa programme support a global workforce by granting over 2,000 long-term visas to researchers and healthcare professionals worldwide.
This strategic mission highlights Abu Dhabi's commitment to global collaboration in healthcare innovation while showcasing its achievements in various fields including genomics and digital health.
