Abu Dhabi Global Health Week 2025 Concludes With Vision To Transform Future Of Health And Well-being

The second Abu Dhabi Global Health Week (ADGHW) ended with a strong focus on reshaping global health perspectives. It aimed to enhance investments and support for longer, healthier lives. The event highlighted digital health, AI, prevention, personalisation, precision medicine, and longevity as key themes. This initiative is part of Abu Dhabi's ongoing efforts to improve future health and well-being.

Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, ADGHW was organised by the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH). The event attracted 14,290 visitors, 1,295 delegates from international organisations, 140 exhibitors, and 271 speakers from 95 countries. These participants gathered to discuss advancements in health.

Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, stated: "Born from Abu Dhabi’s bold vision to transform health, ADGHW connects people, possibilities, and purpose. With leaders from policy, research, technology, and care uniting here to shape the future of health together, together we are moving the conversation from prevention and diagnostics to longevity and healthspan. With Abu Dhabi’s commitment to good health for all, underpinned by collaboration, innovation, data-led insights and action, health knows no boundaries."

The event featured 69 panel discussions covering topics like digital health and AI. It also addressed prevention strategies and healthy ageing. These discussions aimed at advancing data-driven healthcare systems that use AI for disease detection and management. The programme also facilitated the signing of 33 strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs).

These MoUs focused on extending healthy lifespans through precision medicine innovations. They also aimed at building resilient healthcare ecosystems that are sustainable and inclusive. Key partners included M42, PureHealth, Illumina, NYUAD, Khalifa University among others. These collaborations highlight Abu Dhabi's role as a global health leader.

The event was attended by 11 health ministers from countries including Egypt and Jordan. Prominent figures like Nobel Peace Prize laureate Leymah Gbowee also participated. Their presence underscored the importance of international cooperation in tackling global health challenges.

Innovation and Investment

ADGHW served as a platform for innovation through its Startup Zone and Smart Health Hackathon. These initiatives provided startups with opportunities to connect with investors and mentors. The ADGHW Innovation Awards recognised significant contributions to health solutions with a $200,000 prize pool.

As new threats arise alongside existing challenges in healthcare globally, Abu Dhabi remains dedicated to fostering a proactive approach towards future health solutions that benefit everyone worldwide.
