Abu Dhabi Fund For Development Unveils AED 440 Million Sofitel Legend Pyramids Giza Project In Egypt
The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) has unveiled the "Sofitel Legend Pyramids Giza" project, aiming to boost Egypt’s tourism industry and strengthen strategic investments. This luxury five-star hotel will enhance Egypt's hospitality sector and the broader Middle East, showcasing the UAE's dedication to fostering global economic partnerships and sustainable development.
Valued at AED 440 million (US$ 120 million), the hotel will feature 302 rooms with modern amenities. It will also include a variety of international dining options and entertainment facilities, establishing itself as a top destination for luxury hospitality. The project is financed through a strategic alliance between the private sectors of the UAE and Egypt.

ADFD is contributing 84.28% of the project's capital via Abu Dhabi Tourism Investment Company (ADTIC). Other stakeholders include Abu Dhabi National Hotels with 10.22%, Overseas Tourism Investment Company holding 0.4%, Misr Hotels Company owning 2.73%, and the Egyptian General Company for Tourism & Hotels with 2.37%. This collaboration highlights a strong investment partnership between both nations.
The foundation was laid by Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of ADFD, alongside Engineer Adel Al-Najjar, Governor of Giza, with officials from both countries present. The project combines rich history with modern luxury, promising an exceptional hospitality experience that meets high international standards.
Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi stated: "Sofitel Legend Pyramids Giza" project is a significant step in strengthening Egypt’s tourism sector, offering a world-class hotel experience that underscores our commitment to sustainable investments in promising markets." He emphasized ADFD’s dedication to advancing sustainable projects and fostering investment partnerships that drive economic growth in partner countries.
Engineer Adel Al-Najjar expressed gratitude towards ADFD for its ongoing support. "We appreciate Abu Dhabi Fund for Development’s commitment to supporting Egypt’s development projects, particularly in key economic sectors like tourism," he said. He noted that this project exemplifies successful investment collaboration between Egypt and the UAE.
