Abu Dhabi Festival 2025 To Feature New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra And Renowned Artists

The 22nd Abu Dhabi Festival will commence on 7th February with the Arab world debut of the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra. This event, led by renowned conductor Yutaka Sado and featuring tenor Jonathan Tetelman, promises a captivating start. The festival continues on 8th February with pianist Kyohei Sorita performing at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.

Organised by the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF), this year's festival embraces the theme 'Abu Dhabi – A World of Harmony.' It celebrates over five decades of friendship between the UAE and Japan, its honoured country. The inaugural concert will feature Jonathan Tetelman, who will enchant audiences with Puccini's Manon Lescaut, Le Villi, and Turandot.

Abu Dhabi Festival 2025 Opens with Orchestra

Kyohei Sorita, a silver medallist at the 2021 Chopin Competition, will join the opening night. He will perform Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2. The orchestra will also present Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 (From the New World), a piece inspired by the composer's time in America.

The second major performance on 8th February features Kyohei Sorita returning to perform Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1. Additionally, the orchestra will play Yasushi Akutagawa's Triptyque for Strings and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5, which delves into themes of fate and triumph.

These two significant performances herald an extraordinary season at the Abu Dhabi Festival 2025. The festival is known for its creative excellence, showcasing top artists and performers from around the globe. It aims to enrich cultural experiences both locally and internationally.
