Abu Dhabi Empowers Global Partners With New E-Learning Platform

The Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has recently unveiled the "Abu Dhabi Experts" e-learning platform. This innovative initiative was announced during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM 2024), showcasing DCT Abu Dhabi's commitment to enhancing the knowledge and skills of its B2B partners. The platform aims to certify partners as "Experience Abu Dhabi Experts," thereby increasing their proficiency in creating tailored travel experiences for visitors to Abu Dhabi.

The "Abu Dhabi Experts" platform is structured around nine detailed modules that cover a wide array of topics related to Abu Dhabi's tourism sector. These modules delve into the emirate’s cultural heritage, key landmarks, attractions, and various accommodation options, providing a comprehensive understanding of what Abu Dhabi has to offer. Upon successful completion of the training, participants will be awarded a certificate, affirming their status as certified "Experience Abu Dhabi Experts." This certification not only enhances their industry credibility but also equips them with the necessary tools to design customized travel itineraries.

New E-Learning Hub for Abu Dhabi Tourism

Initially available in English, the e-learning module is set to broaden its reach by offering content in a total of 13 languages. This expansion aims to make the training program accessible to a global audience, ensuring that travel professionals worldwide can become adept at promoting Abu Dhabi as a premier travel destination.

This launch coincides with several other significant announcements made at ATM, including new partnerships with leading global travel and tourism organizations. It also follows closely on the heels of the updated Tourism Strategy 2030 reveal. The strategy outlines ambitious goals for the emirate, aiming to increase visitor numbers from nearly 24 million in 2023 to 39.3 million by 2030. This includes both overnight and same-day visitors, targeting a 7 percent annual growth rate. Furthermore, it seeks to substantially boost the tourism sector’s contribution to the UAE's GDP—from approximately AED49 billion in 2023 to AED90 billion annually by 2030.

Through these initiatives, DCT Abu Dhabi demonstrates its proactive approach to fostering growth and sustainability within the tourism industry. By empowering travel professionals with in-depth knowledge and insights into Abu Dhabi’s offerings, the emirate is poised to attract a greater number of visitors, contributing significantly to its economic development and cultural exchange.
