Enhancing Industrial Safety: Abu Dhabi Investment Office Teams Up For Emergency Response Improvement

The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority (ADCDA) and Ambipar, a company known for industrial services and environmental solutions.

This collaboration seeks to improve emergency response capabilities and industrial services in Abu Dhabi. The agreement was signed during the first Abu Dhabi Business Week, focusing on enhancing safety in the industrial sector by leveraging the expertise of all parties involved.

Enhancing Emergency Response in Abu Dhabi s Industry

The partnership aims to boost emergency preparedness in the industrial sector by building local capacity and fostering innovation. It will facilitate knowledge and technology transfer to ensure that Abu Dhabi's industrial landscape remains secure, resilient, and sustainable. The MoU outlines plans to promote awareness of industrial emergency response, reinforcing Abu Dhabi's commitment to operational safety and emergency management innovation.

ADIO is keen on integrating foreign investors into Abu Dhabi's ecosystem, connecting them with growth opportunities. As part of this effort, ADIO supports Ambipar's expansion within the emirate. This involves fostering local partnerships to accelerate innovative emergency response solutions and industrial services deployment.

The collaboration will explore adopting advanced technologies for better inspection and asset management in industrial facilities. Ambipar plans to use remote techniques like drones and remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) for high-accuracy inspections. These methods aim to reduce human risk exposure while improving operational efficiency.

The agreement also sets a framework for assessing how cutting-edge technologies and industry best practices can be integrated into Abu Dhabi's emergency response sector. This initiative is expected to enhance the emirate's capabilities in handling emergencies effectively.

ADCDA will collaborate closely with Ambipar to explore ways of transferring essential knowledge and technologies for managing hazardous materials and responding to emergencies. This partnership aims to enhance ADCDA's operational capabilities significantly.

Brigadier Salem Abdullah bin Barak Al Dhaheri, Director-General of ADCDA, expressed satisfaction with the collaboration: "We are pleased to explore avenues of cooperation with ADIO and Ambipar to enhance emergency response capabilities and build local capacity."

Mohammad Al Kamali, Chief Trade and Industry Officer at ADIO, highlighted the significance of this collaboration: "This collaboration marks a pivotal step in Abu Dhabi's efforts to strengthen the resilience and sustainability of its industrial sector, a key driver of the emirate's economic acceleration goals."

Rodrigo Paiva, CEO of Ambipar MENA, shared his enthusiasm: "Through our collaboration with ADIO and the ADCDA, we are proud to bring our emergency management, maintenance and repair, and industrial service solutions to Abu Dhabi. This partnership allows us to contribute to the emirate's long-term growth by fostering innovation, building local capacity, and supporting the sustainable development of its industrial sector."

Tercio Borlenghi Jr., Founder and CEO of Ambipar Group, added: "By collaborating with the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, we aim to not only strengthen local capabilities but also position Abu Dhabi and the UAE as a benchmark for safety and innovation across the Middle East."
