Abu Dhabi is setting the stage for an influential gathering focused on early childhood development (ECD), known as the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Week, scheduled from October 29 until November 2, 2024. This event, a WED Movement initiative led by the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority (ECA), operates under the esteemed patronage of Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs and Chairman of ECA.
The week-long event aims to spotlight the significant role of Abu Dhabi in fostering the growth and development of children across multiple areas of society. This initiative aligns with WED's pivotal themes: Intentional Parenting, Culture and Identity, and Sustainable and Family-friendly Cities, with the goal of encouraging community engagement and collaborative efforts to enhance ECD.

Sheikh Theyab underscored the importance of the commitment of the UAE in advancing the welfare and development of its youngest citizens, viewing it as foundational for the nation's future. He highlighted the innovative nature of WED as a platform for developing solutions that positively affect children's lives both within the UAE and globally.
Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Week will present a series of sessions and workshops featuring leading research, innovative solutions, and promising startups in the sphere of early childhood development. The event is also set to bridge the gap between investors and venture capital funds, promoting partnerships and investments in ECD innovations that tackle challenges and foster development in Abu Dhabi and beyond.
Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Chair of the WED Movement, reiterated the commitment to utilizing this event as a platform for convening parents, professionals, and experts to generate and accelerate innovative ideas within the ECD sector. She also emphasized the importance of disseminating these solutions and learnings internationally to lead the global early childhood development movement.
Sana Mohammad Suhail, ECA Director-General, expressed that the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Week exemplifies the emirate's commitment to creating child-friendly and inclusive communities. By prioritizing the well-being of its youngest residents and promoting family-centric initiatives, Abu Dhabi aims to ensure the prosperity and continued success of future generations.
Marking its position as the first of its kind in the region, Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Week highlights the dedication of the emirate and the UAE to pushing forward the global early childhood development agenda. This event not only seeks to address immediate challenges but also to pave a pathway for sustainable and inclusive growth for the youngest members of society.
