Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Week 2025 Celebrates Play And Community Engagement For Families

Under the auspices of H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Week 2025 kicks off on Monday. The event unites families, partners, and communities across the Emirate to celebrate and support young children under the theme "Together We Can Make Abu Dhabi a Family-friendly Emirate." This initiative is part of the Year of Community and is organised by the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority (ECA).

The event, running from 17 to 23 November, spans Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra. It features over 300 community activities designed by more than 65 partners. These activities underscore the significance of early childhood and invite families to engage in a lively programme filled with play, learning, and discovery through enjoyable and interactive experiences.

Celebrating Early Childhood in Abu Dhabi

Families have a variety of options to explore during this week. They can attend workshops like "Capital and the Treasures of the Future" at Abu Dhabi Children’s Library or enjoy educational experiences at CLYMB Yas Island. Public parks offer sports and outdoor fun, while Galleria Mall hosts health awareness sessions. ADNOC’s Family Engagement Day in Liwa is another highlight.

The week also includes parenting workshops from NACD’s "Olfah" Program and free football training for children aged 5 to 8 at 321 Sports by Modon. PureHealth and M42 provide hands-on learning experiences focused on health awareness and wellbeing. Most activities are free, though some require tickets or invitations.

This year’s event brings together diverse partners such as ADNOC as the Energy Partner, NACD as the Visionary Partner, and PureHealth as the Health Partner. The programme combines fun with learning while promoting quality family time. Interactive workshops, play-based education, cultural showcases, and health events aim to strengthen family bonds and celebrate Emirati culture.

The Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority highlights that this week is an open invitation for families to enjoy meaningful experiences blending learning with play. It encourages parents to find new ways to engage with their children in safe spaces that enhance Abu Dhabi's reputation as a family-friendly emirate.

Community Involvement and Support

The event has become a platform celebrating early childhood's importance while raising awareness about supporting children's development from birth. It emphasises play's role in development, how family time strengthens emotional bonds, and how daily interactions can positively impact academic outcomes.

This year’s edition involves various sectors including the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT), Abu Dhabi Maritime and Sports Council (ADMSC), Abu Dhabi Public Health Center (ADPHC), M42, Department of Community Development (DCD), Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), Shams Power, Al Ain Football Club, Bidaya Media, Miral, National Library and Archives, Modon among others.

The full calendar of activities can be accessed on ADECWeek.ae. This initiative reinforces the essential role of play in early childhood development while showcasing how family time strengthens emotional bonds.
