Abu Dhabi Department Of Energy Collaborates With Presight And AIQ To Enhance AI Solutions And Digital Transformation
The Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE) has entered into a strategic partnership with Presight and AIQ. This collaboration aims to enhance the DoE's capabilities in artificial intelligence and digital transformation, focusing on establishing a data and AI centre for the emirate's energy sector. The agreement was unveiled at the World Utilities Congress 2025, currently taking place at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Abdulla Humaid Al Jarwan, Chairman of the DoE, highlighted that this partnership introduces innovative AI-based solutions across various sectors such as water, electricity, district cooling, and petroleum products. He emphasised that the collaboration is built on an advanced AI infrastructure, bringing together necessary expertise and modern tools to develop exceptional solutions.

The agreement includes creating an AI-driven control centre platform called AD.WE. This platform will provide real-time analytics for Abu Dhabi's energy and utilities sector. Additionally, an "AI Lab-as-a-Service" will be introduced to allow energy companies to test and implement AI solutions within their operations.
Ahmed Mohammed Al Rumaithi, Under-Secretary of the DoE, stated that this agreement marks a pivotal point in the digital transformation of Abu Dhabi's energy sector. He noted that leveraging cutting-edge AI solutions will enhance monitoring and analysis capabilities, improving operational efficiency and supporting data-driven decision-making.
Dr. Adel Al Sharji from Presight expressed that this initiative sets a new international standard for energy management using sophisticated AI technologies. It aims to improve operational effectiveness while paving the way for a sustainable and innovative energy future aligned with Abu Dhabi's vision.
The agreement also involves establishing a primary data hub to consolidate all data under the DoE's jurisdiction. This hub will serve as a single trusted source of information for sector companies, enabling secure data management and sharing while utilising tailored AI models to support workflows.
Magzhan Kenesbai from AIQ remarked on the significance of this agreement for AIQ, highlighting its alignment with their goal to be a leading provider of agent-based AI solutions in diverse energy domains. He commended the DoE's vision to balance rising energy demand with clean production.
The collaboration extends to research, development, and skill enhancement through workshops and training programs designed to upskill DoE staff in using AI tools effectively in their daily tasks. This initiative supports Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments by promoting sustainability through AI-based solutions.
Strategic Vision for Sustainability
Kenesbai added that artificial intelligence is crucial for achieving sustainable economic growth by balancing energy demand with efficient production. The UAE Energy Strategy 2050 aligns with this vision, aiming for sustainable development through advanced technologies.
The agreement was signed by Ahmed Mohammed Al Rumaithi from the DoE; Dr. Adel Al Sharji from Presight; and Dr. Adel Bin Subaih from AIQ. The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials and experts from participating entities.
This partnership underscores Abu Dhabi's commitment to becoming a regional leader in energy innovation by integrating advanced technologies into its infrastructure.
