Abu Dhabi Judicial Department And DIFC Courts Strengthen Ties Through Innovation

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) recently hosted a delegation from the Dubai International Financial Centre Courts. The visit aimed to discuss collaboration, partnerships, and sharing of expertise in innovation and digital technologies. This initiative seeks to enhance litigation experiences and implement global best practices.

The delegation was briefed on the history of the Abu Dhabi Courts' remote litigation department. They learned about judicial work mechanisms and advanced technologies used to provide top-tier legal services. These include remote attendance for all case parties via video communication, self-registration through an electronic portal, and smart case file management.

During their visit, the delegation explored the significant role of the Abu Dhabi Civil Family Court in maintaining Abu Dhabi's appeal. The court's innovative civil marriage services for foreigners and the Civil Wills Registration Office were highlighted. These services allow clients to register wills in English over the phone, eliminating the need for physical court appearances.

This visit aligns with His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan's vision to enhance cooperation among judicial authorities. By exchanging expertise, they aim to integrate judicial institutions across the country and apply globally recognised best practices in the judicial field.

The delegation also received detailed explanations about ADJD's management of judicial systems and services. They learned about service offerings, transaction completion ease, operational models, internal support systems, service providers, available channels, performance monitoring, and analysis mechanisms.

The ADJD showcased its state-of-the-art technologies that facilitate world-class judicial services. Remote litigation capabilities allow parties to attend sessions via video communication technologies. Additionally, self-registration services through the department's electronic portal streamline case management from registration to judgment execution.
