Abu Dhabi's Data For Good Framework Enhances Public-Private Partnerships To Drive Innovation

The Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi (SCAD) has introduced the Data for Good (D4G) Framework. This initiative aims to boost data-driven innovation and enhance collaboration between public and private sectors in the Emirate. The framework was unveiled at the Abu Dhabi Pavilion Majlis during GITEX, with input from both global and local partners.

The D4G Framework is a pivotal step in forming secure partnerships between government and private entities. It empowers them to utilise real-time data insights for societal benefits. Data plays a crucial role in modern governance, helping decision-makers tackle complex issues effectively.

Abu Dhabi Launches Data for Good Framework

Abu Dhabi is positioned as a leader in using data to support sustainable development and economic resilience through this framework. Built on trust, innovation, and sustainability, it ensures secure data sharing while safeguarding privacy and competitive edges.

The framework aims to leverage Abu Dhabi's data for decision-making, improving public services, and fostering sustainable economic growth. This is achieved by responsibly generating access to data.

Several components support the D4G Framework, creating an environment conducive to secure data sharing:

  • Data Stewardship: Ensures proper management and governance of shared data.
  • Privacy and Security: Guarantees adherence to global privacy standards.
  • Data Ethics: Encourages ethical use of data for societal benefits.
  • Collaborative Governance: Aligns stakeholders through shared objectives and transparent decision-making.

"The Data for Good alliance is innovating how we leverage data to drive innovation and progress," said Abdulla Gharib Alqemzi, Director General of SCAD. "By building trust and fostering collaboration between public and private sectors, this framework enables us to unlock the full potential of data - the lifeblood of modern governance- to create actionable insights that benefit society, fuel economic growth, and support our long-term sustainability goals."

A Collaborative Effort

The D4G Framework was crafted through extensive partnerships with local, private, and global experts. These collaborations ensured alignment with international best practices. SCAD worked with over 60 partners from various sectors to develop a system tailored to Abu Dhabi's socio-economic needs.

This framework promotes inclusivity and resilience by enhancing public services and real-time decision-making capabilities. By focusing on sustainable data use, it addresses socio-economic challenges while building a diversified economy based on knowledge.

Creating Shared Value Across Sectors

The D4G Framework generates shared value across multiple sectors by strengthening trust between public and private entities. Both parties benefit from real-time insights derived from data analysis. This mutually beneficial model fosters economic growth while reinforcing Abu Dhabi's status as a global leader in data-driven governance.

The initiative ultimately supports Abu Dhabi's long-term sustainability goals by unlocking the full potential of data as a vital resource for modern governance. Through responsible use of information, it aims to create actionable insights that benefit society at large.
