Abu Dhabi Customs Hosts Jordanian Delegation To Showcase AI-Driven Digital Transformation In Customs Operations

The General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs recently hosted a delegation from the Jordan Customs Department for a three-day study visit. Organised by the International Trade Centre in Geneva, this visit aimed to explore advanced customs practices in Abu Dhabi. The focus was on modern technologies and artificial intelligence applications, particularly in customs risk management, aligning with international standards to enhance cross-border trade and supply chain efficiency.

Abu Dhabi Customs' digital transformation achievements were a key highlight of the visit. The delegation learned about innovative customs systems and strategic projects planned for 2024–2028. These initiatives aim to empower customs operations in Abu Dhabi. The visitors also explored the Digital Transformation Strategy and advanced solutions provided to both local and international trade communities.

AI-Driven Customs Transformation Showcased to Jordan

Rashed Lahej Al Mansoori, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Customs, welcomed Major General Ahmed Mohammed Al-Akalik, Director General of the Jordan Customs Department. During their meeting at Abu Dhabi Customs headquarters, discussions centred on enhancing cooperation and sharing expertise to develop customs systems and improve operational efficiency.

Al Mansoori stated that building an innovative customs model is crucial for supporting the business environment and achieving sustainable economic leadership in Abu Dhabi. He emphasised that investing in technology and knowledge is essential for strengthening regional and international partnerships. This approach provides a smart infrastructure based on flexibility, precision, and efficiency.

The visit included presentations on operational customs systems and field visits where the delegation was briefed on key digital initiatives like the DHAFRA Advanced Data and Future Reporting Centre. This centre uses artificial intelligence to support non-oil economic growth. They also learned about REMAH, an integrated Customs Risk Management System.

Major General Al-Akalik expressed gratitude towards Abu Dhabi Customs for their hospitality and valuable engagement through advanced expertise sharing. He acknowledged the role of cutting-edge technologies in enhancing customs operations. Al-Akalik highlighted Jordan's interest in continuing cooperation with Abu Dhabi Customs to exchange expertise that supports shared goals and regional economic growth.

Raghad Altalli from the International Trade Centre praised Abu Dhabi Customs for its digital transformation achievements. She noted that these accomplishments make it a model for global customs authorities. Altalli appreciated the professionalism and generosity of Abu Dhabi Customs leadership in sharing their expertise internationally.
